SAP has more than 300 different applications in her Fiori landscape, with many belonging to the category of analytical apps. These apps show you the current situation and are called “SAP Smart Business” and “SAP Smart Business Cockpit”. In this blog I will explain the new possibilities that are available because of the Fiori Analytical App and the functions these have.
There are three types of Fiori apps. The transactional apps can, for example, be used to register hours or to approve of invoices. The Fact Sheet Apps show the details of, for instance, a product or maintenance schedules. Last, but not least, there are Analytical Apps which show sales orders compared to the price of a product or days of leave compared to the number of employees.

SAP Fiori Analytical Apps
The Fiori Analytical Apps help to create an overview of the sales so as to be able to make decisions based on this.
A good example is the app for “Sales Order Fulfilment Issues”. In the KPI tiles you can see how many issues there are and in the overview list you can see what these issues are. There is also the option of clicking until the process flow to look at what order the process is and what the issue is.

Runs on the HANA in-memory database
The Analytical Apps run on the HANA platform using the HANA XS services, making it very fast. New data that has just been added is directly use in analyses to produce up to date insights.
This same principle also works for the cloud version of HANA: the HANA Cloud Platform. The data present in the HANA Cloud Platform can also be managed by using the Fiori Analystical apps. Access to the information is scalable and is attainable everywhere is you have access to it. Rapid insight in work status with KPI tiles
An important portion of the Analytical Apps are the KPI tiles, also known as the Key Performance Indicator tiles, are used to achieve a rapid insight into the data of a specific user. KPI tiles are installed separately on the dashboard for each user, who can then simply add or remove them at their own will.

The KPI tiles show data by using numbers, graphs or a combination of both. When a KPI tile is clicked on, the Fiori Analytical application that generated the data is opened. This allows the user to zoom in on the source of the data. The ‘data drilling’ principle is used throughout the Fiori Analytical application and allows the user to look at the data in an overview and a very narrow view.
All employees are able to build their own mobile dashboards
The Analytical applications allow the employees to look at the KPI’s in their department and to see their own contribution to them. Users can check out their own KPI’s on their mobile phone today, whilst before this was only accessible to dashboard specialists.
The Analytical apps are the future for the first line of analytics available in the HANA Cloud Platform. The first insights will be available using the Fiori Analysis apps, however, for more extensive analyses other tools are available.
